Kumar Raj is a Master Mariner by profession, has done his Management from Cambridge UK and is into Film Production & Direction through his extreme passion and love for Cinema. He has completed Diploma in Direction from Digital Academy and Diploma in production from ZIMA (Zee Institute of Media Arts) before commencing his career in film Industry. He has made five feature films in various languages. His last feature film was officially selected in 215 international film festivals and has receive 145 international awards plus went to Oscars in best film foreign language category. His 1st feature film was a Crossover feature film in English "Come December" for which the movie received two awards in the Indianapolis Film Festival in USA. Kumar Raj received "Upcoming film Producer & Directors" award in 2005. His 2nd film Produced and Directed was a Punjabi feature film "Jaidaad" which was widely appreciated. His 3rd film was a Hindi feature film "Manthan Ek Kashmakash" which was produced and directed by him. The film was the result of extensive research and hard work put by him to place a very grave worldwide piracy problem of the entire Film Industry which was a very entertaining crime thriller and was widely appreciated. In year 2007, Kumar Raj has received "Nami" Award for contribution to the film industry, for making the first film on piracy "Manthan Ek Kashmakash". His 4th feature film was in Hindi "TARA - The journey of love and passion" which received 145 international awards and was the official selection in 215 International film festivals worldwide. The film was official entry to Oscars from Togo in West Africa . The 5th film produced & directed by him is "Yahan Ameena Bikti Hai" which is also a very hard hitting woman oriented movie based on problems of women in rural and backward areas. The film this year is an Oscar entry from the country "Cameroon" as best feature film in foreign language category for the 89th Academy awards.
